Who We Are?

all about us!

Hi and welcome to my little happy space.

I am Lisa and I am married to Ross and we live in Edinburgh with our 3 kiddos. Our daughter is 8 and our twin boys are 5.

As a family we spend a lot of time adventuring outdoors… life is definitely easier with 3 kids outdoors!

I think myself really lucky to be based in Edinburgh as we have all the perks of being a bus ride into the city while having the sea, beaches, trees and hills on our doorstep.

Our daughter attended a Forest Kindergarten as part of her nursery provision and when we went into Lockdown she really missed being outdoors in the forest so we started spending afternoons exploring the outdoors on our doorstep. The boys learned to walk in these afternoons and we made lots of wonderful memories. The boys now attend the same Forest Kindergarten and we still enjoy our outdoor adventures.

During Lockdown I stumbled upon the 1000 hours Outside Challenge and the whole concept really appealed to me. We decided to try and spend as many hours outside as we could in the year.

This is now our 4th year doing the challenge and being outdoors is fully engrained into our family life – we are all happiest by the sea, among the trees or up a hill!

We have visited some wonderful places and so I decided to share some of our adventures here in the hope that they might inspire or help some of you to explore your own adventures.
